A twistlock pin is a device that locks containers together. These devices are used in shipping and transportation around the world.

Various other uses include securing a shipping unit to a trailer or semi-trailer for transport. It may be actuated by a handle that engages an aperture on a corner fitting of the shipping unit.

A method of controlling a twistlock connected to a container for locking two containers together comprises matching a remotely controlled twistlock with the container, wherein unique identifiers are registered for the twist lock and the container, storing said identifier information in a database. The unlocking function of the twistlock is remotely controlled by means of the remote control unit.
