What should be paid attention to during the maintenance of special slings

The extrusion deformation of steel wire is that a part of steel wire or steel wire bundle arches at the side of the steel wire rope against the pulley groove to form a ring. This deformation is often caused by impact loads. If such deformation is serious, the wire rope shall be scrapped.

The diameter of the sling rope increases locally, that is, the diameter of the steel wire rope may increase locally and can affect a quite long section of steel wire rope. The increase of rope diameter is usually related to the distortion of the rope core (for example, in a special environment, the fiber core expands due to moisture). The inevitable result is that the outer rope strand is unbalanced, resulting in incorrect positioning.

If the above-mentioned problems of wire extrusion deformation and rope core distortion occur to the lifting tools, in addition to improper operation of the lifting tools during operation, the above problems can also occur, which is largely due to problems in the maintenance of the lifting tools. Therefore, the maintenance of lifting tools cannot be ignored. The following summarizes the maintenance precautions that should be kept in mind during the maintenance of lifting tools.

The used steel coil slings must be placed on a special shelf, stored in a ventilated, dry and clean workshop, and kept by a specially assigned person.

The surface of steel coil slings shall be regularly protected against rust, and shall not be stored in acid, alkali, salt, chemical gas or damp environment.

Steel coil slings shall not be stored in high temperature areas.

Clean the rotating parts regularly and apply lubricating oil regularly to prevent dry friction and jamming.
